Indigo Storm - big shepherd personality in a tiny size!
Beautiful Indigo Storm, Indie to her friends, is an utterly stunning babe, very typical of the German Shepherd breed in terms of drive, loyalty, intelligence and love for her family, yet she is so dainty and is only around 24kgs at most! If you have ever wanted a German Shepherd but were worried about their size, then this is the girl for you!
Indigo Storm is beautiful in every sense, her stunning looks are so obvious, but her personality is just as beautiful. She loves meeting new people when she's feeling confident and making friends, and loves a good game of tug-o-war or to play fetch! She is very energetic and needs daily exercise to keep her mentally active and fit.
When Indigo is not wanting to play and run, she loves to snuggle up on the couch with her favourite people, she is a wonderfully trained inside dog who loves nothing more than to be around her people, which includes snuggles on the couch, so if you don't want a 'velcro' dog following you around, and sharing your space and trying to crawl into your lap, then Indigo Storm is not the dog for you!
Indigo has basic training and fantastic manners and is very much still a puppy in a lot of ways with her exuberance and love and curiosity. Indigo does require a home that is knowledgable with the breed. If you have had a German Shepherd before we would love to hear from you, as we always say 'German Shepherds are the best people' and once you have had the love of a shepherd any other breed just doesn't compare.
Indigo, like all German Shepherds, needs regular grooming and brushing. German Shepherds shed, and they love to play and muck about, so they need regular maintenance baths and grooms. If you aren't up to the challenge of maintaining a Shepherd coat and think the odd tumbleweed of dog fur rolling down your hallway isn't your style, then please don't apply.
Indigo did have a bit of a sheltered life while growing up so some of her skills and confidence does need to be refined. Indigo has grown up with other dogs, and cats, however, she lacks the skills and confidence while on lead and can be reactive. Her leash skills in general do need improvement even though she has improved in leaps and bounds since coming into care. For this reason, we will only be considering applications that will be dedicated to training and will reach out for help with training and group classes in order to help her be the best dog ever (we already think she is the best dog ever to be honest!)
Indigo is a dog that needs daily exercise and activity, she is not a back yard dog, she needs to be kept active and allowed to be a fully-fledged family member. Indigo will be best being the only fur-kid in the household so she can get all the love and attention and doesn't have to share, I mean look at her? How could you not want to smother her with love all of the time??!
If you tick all the boxes in terms of having an active family, a family that wants an inside dog, a family that wants a snuggle buddy shadow, a family that has no other fur kids and can dedicate time and energy into refining her training and are knowledgable with the breed then we would love to hear from you!
