Looks and brains to match, what a combo! This beautiful 12 week old Border Collie x is on the search for an active family to lavish her with attention.

Helga is loads of fun, has loads of energy, loves loads of cuddles and has just the right amount of sass to keep you on your toes. She is house trained, lead trained and has basic obedience but of course in true working dog style she does need to be constantly entertained to avoid her getting up to mischief.

helga frontHelga lives with one of her siblings and loves to run and play with him, and also really enjoys the company of cats! Helga lives with a small human buddy and just adores hanging out with him and watching cartoons in the morning.

Helga needs a new family that has very secure fences, as when she's older she will be very agile. At the moment being so little, she can squeeze through any areas she wants to explore to occupy her puppy curiosity, so we need her new family to be prepared for a rigorous yard check.

Helga needs a family who will take her to puppy training, and then further training once that is completed. This is non negotiable. She is incredibly intelligent and needs a family that understand Border Collies are smarter than the average dog, with energy to burn, so formal training where she can gain social skills with other dogs is vital. Border Collies are so incredibly smart, and they don't suffer fools, so dog savvy and more importantly working breed savvy families are a must.

Helga is not a puppy for couch potatoes. She will be a very energetic dog and will need daily exercise, both physically and mentally.

All up Helga is a very confident and social little girl who loooooves cuddles and food and will make the most wonderful loyal companion for a very lucky family.

Dog Adoption Policy

Please note: completing an adoption form does not guarantee that an adoption will take place.

Melbourne Animal Rescue Inc. reserves the right to choose the most suitable applicant and reject those deemed less suitable.

Occasionally, there can be multiple applications for the one animal and there is NO 'First In - Best Dressed' - the multiple applications are vetted for the most suitable.

We do our utmost to contact all applicants, including those who are unsuccessful, to inform them of the result but as we are staffed by volunteers, most of whom work full time, occasionally responses are overlooked and we apologise in advance if this occurs.

MAR does not adopt to those who are not permanent residents of Australia.
